Using Humor as a Technique
Using 'silly humor' sometimes works to cool down the environment. There is a wide variety of reasons why humor works to get things under control. Essentially, it is effective in getting you in a more balanced standpoint. When you become angry and identify someone using an innovative expression, hold on it and visualize the original meaning or implication of that expression. For example, when you become angry with someone working with you at the workplace, and call him an 'ass' or 'cow', imagine how it looks like when an 'ass' or a 'cow' is picking up the telephone or doing official conversation with others.
The essential theme of this technique is to blocking the angry thought pattern into something funny, simply executing a counterbalance between virtually two opposite emotional states. It is possible that if you are able to get into great details of your angry statement, you can possibly realize that your actions may be simply unreasonable. However, you should be careful not to implement any sort of sarcastic humor since it is another unhealthy form of aggression.
This technique is based on the assumption that anger is a too seriously executed emotional state, whereas humor is simply the opposite. So implementing humor technique, one can effectively counterbalance his or her feeling of anger to some significant extent.
